Your Guide to Canada’s Winter Magic
If there’s one season Canadians do right, it’s winter. And there’s so much more beyond the Champagne powder Canada’s Western mountains are famous for. Early in the season – head to the frontier town of Churchill, Manitoba for polar bear watching in October. Specially built “tundra buggies” allow visitors to get close and stay safe, then relax over drinks by the fire in a remote luxury lodge.

One of the North’s most thrilling winter festivals is Yukon Quest – the 1,000 mile dog sled race from Fairbanks, Alaska to Whitehorse, Yukon. Watch the mushers take off from Fairbanks or arrive in the Yukon capital. Then book your own dog sled dash through the woods with an expert crew – consider a nighttime ride to experience the brilliant starry sky.

In Whistler, world-class skiing and snowboarding await at Whistler Blackcomb, one of North America’s largest ski resorts. With over 8,100 acres of skiable terrain, 200+ marked runs, 16 alpine bowls, and three glaciers, it’s a paradise for winter sports lovers. After a day on the slopes, unwind in the pedestrian-only Whistler Village, known for its vibrant aprés-ski scene, gourmet restaurants, and luxury accommodations.Don’t forget the East: Quebec City is the country’s most scenic provincial capital with its 17th-century fortifications. The Quebecois reputation for fine food is well deserved (even the poutine is better here) and all ages must try the city’s enormous, 19th-century wooden toboggan run right outside the Château Frontenac – you’ve never had this much fun with your toque on.

Endless Summer
Waikiki | Honolulu, Oahu

Extend that Easy Summertime Feeling in Hawaii Summer might be officially over soon, but you can keep that vacation vibe alive in Hawaii. Choose from six main islands, each offering a gorgeous, laid-back lifestyle.

Maui Coastline | The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua
Maui Coastline | The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua

Maui is eager to welcome visitors. While the 2023 Lahaina fire has left a small portion of the island off-limits, Wailea, Hana, and other five-star spots remain unharmed and fully operational. With fewer crowds, it’s a perfect time to support the island we all love. Come for the beaches, the golf, the whale watching, and the sunrise from Haleakala’s peak, knowing that your travel dollars are helping to rebuild and support the local community.

Kauai Coastline | Four Seasons Resort Lanai
Kauai Coastline | Four Seasons Resort Lanai

If you need a complete escape, head to either Lanai or Kauai, both renowned for their privacy and luxury, as well as their über-chill lifestyle and über-chic hotels. Golfers can book tee times on Lanai’s incredible Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course. In Kauai, kayak along the serene Wailua River or take a helicopter tour to fully appreciate the island’s breathtaking beauty from above, including the stunning Nā Pali Coast and the ‘Grand Canyon of the Pacific’ in Waimea.

Families and adventure-seeking travelers might consider Hawaii Island (better known as the Big Island) to explore the wild wonders of Volcanoes National Park – from the lush jungle that’s grown around the lava tube walks to eerie hikes up black volcanic scree to see the bubbling crater below. After your adventures, unwind at the newly opened Rosewood beachfront property near Kona.

Oahu offers the big city fun of Waikiki and a beach that goes on for days. Book a surfboard for the day or head out for a ride in an outrigger canoe, it’s a chance to let the locals “surf” the canoe back to the beach. Or head to the North Shore where you can watch the pros take on the waves. Make time to explore the U.S.S. Arizona national historic site in Pearl Harbor and hike up to Diamond Head for incredible sea views.

Trust us to find the right island and resorts for your travel family.
